ABOUT

The RockHouse System is the world’s first holistic, self-contained, fully bolted steel frame construction system.

Three mobile, towable machines eliminate the need for factory fabrication and transport of frames and trusses as all parts are produced onsite. The mobile machines form three repeatable parts, using heavy duty galvanised sheet steel, to construct infinitely configurable steel Meccano® (Erector set) style building frames. Ground floor, first floor and roof structures are assembled on top of each other at ground level and positioned with lightweight water jacks, eliminating the need for costly scaffolding.

With this simplified construction system, there is no need for high investment in skilled labour or heavy construction equipment - production of the parts for a 290m² house can be completed within one day, and the framework including roof, assembled within 3 to 4 days.

No factory. No scaffolding. Just a high-quality, self-contained, integrated frame building system of exceptional strength and durability.

ABOUT

THE SYSTEM

Sample Structure (Square).jpg
Strong, simple, resilient building frames

RockHouse uses repeatable bespoke parts that simply bolt together to form an integral structural steel frame that is up to 8 times stronger than traditional builds, recyclable, water, moisture, fire and termite resistant, with potential for use in cyclone and earthquake prone areas.

Onsite fabrication

All parts are made onsite from sheets of heavy duty galvanised steel by mobile forming machines, eliminating the costs of factory fabrication and transport of bulky pre-fabricated frames. Raw materials are readily available, inexpensive and easily transportable.

Easy assembly

Three machine-formed, repeatable parts are assembled easily and quickly by low-skilled labour. Parts are assembled at ground level, eliminating dangers associated with working at heights. Upper floors and finished roof are jacked into position – no scaffolding required.

All parts are lightweight, reducing work injury risk (maximum weight is less than 16kg).
